Air Conditioning and Plant Inspections

Sub-Cool FM / Plant Inspection

It is an assessment of current air conditioning and plant systems that includes a full inspection of plant, compliance check and any actions or recommendations that may be required such as:

  • The efficiency of current systems
  • Any faults identified during the inspection
  • The adequacy of maintenance inspection
  • The adequacy of maintenance regimes
  • The size of the systems in relation to cooling requirements
  • Scope to reduce cooling loads
  • Advice and recommendations on management of systems

  • The quality of reporting and monitoring of your systems?

 

Under the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2007 building owners or operators have a legal obligation to have their air conditioning systems inspected every 5 years if the total output is 12 kW or above (this includes the combined total of individual air conditionng units.) A qualified assessor must carry out the inspection and a report and certificate issued in accordance with the CIBSE Guide TM44.
